“Hip-hop is at its most commercial point right now. They use it in phone and calling card commercials. It’s like jazz was, really like a rebel music at one time and now it’s elevator music, so you’ll probably hear hip-hop in elevators in a minute.”

“Dope Aquarium” (Childish Gambino vs. Nosaj Thing)

So, a couple of days ago, Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover, star of the NBC show Community) released a couple of acapellas from his latest rap album Culdesac. I decided it’d be fun to make a mashup! So I mixed the vocals of his song “Let Me Dope You” with an instrumental track by Nosaj Thing called “Aquarium”.

Sucker Punch

I’m not very familiar with the comic book this is based upon, so I’m not sure if it’ll make a good movie. I really like some of these visuals though, and if Zack Snyder is involved you can be sure there will be lots of slow motion used. For better or worse.
